First ever blog post. zomg lol jk

Well this year has been an interesting one. I have had good times, bad times, hard times, fun times and memorable times. Yet looking back at them all I would have to say that what stands out most was seeing some of my kids pull it together at the end of the year and acing their final. One student in particular who was a C/D student near the first semester mark started coming in for regular tutoring and got her grade up to an A- by the end of the year. When i was grading the finals I was looking at a few scores in particular and I saw that she got the highest score out of both my classes! At that moment I was so proud of her but it was just too bad that I could not congratulate her on her accomplishments as the school year had already ended. Just knowing how much I helped her get to his made me feel good about teaching and what I did this year.

  1. You ever suspect that she cheated? haha, just kidding. I'm glad you got to feel that sense of influence on your students. It's pretty awesome.

Meanwhile, I hate that feeling that the school year is out and it's too late to tell your students how proud you are.

  2. I had the same thing happen! Except I graded her paper while she was still there. This student killed me with how much she didn't do. However, her mom got her a tutor and she started to try really hard but I was afraid it was too late. She actually did better on her final than most of the kids in the class who usually get A's. I think you should feel great about your teaching! I'm sure she will be happy when she receives her report card. Great job on not giving up because I know I sure wanted to!
